Self-supported

This is a self-supported event. Riders must carry everything they require including mandatory equipment for the duration of the ride. Riders may not receive any personal support/seconding whilst in competition.

  • Riders must follow the designated route using GPS to self-navigate. The course is not marked.

  • There is food and beds/mattresses/blankets provided at checkpoints

  • Riders may each pack one 2 litre resupply tub to be handed in at registration. This tub will be available at Masakala (230km and 515km)

  • Resupply splits for checkpoints, water sources, shops and accommodation are provided

Purists may view this as “semi-supported” but essentially it is still up to the rider when he/she stops and sources food, water, accommodation and/or camping.
